There are many different ways to Volunteer!
Animal Fostering
We endeavour to keep animals in the environment they are accustomed to or one which is close to what we expect for them in the future. Fostering an animal can be a very rewarding experience. If you are interested in short-term fostering a rescue animal, please see the page 'Fostering An Animal'
Homechecking
Homechecking is a vital part of the rehoming process. We need responsible homecheckers in many different areas. If you would like to volunteer to do simple, friendly homechecks for us once in a while please email enquiries@hornchurchpetservices.co.uk using 'Volunteering' as the title of your mail. We ask for a form of identification and a character reference. We will provide you with some simple training and a checklist.
Transporting Animals/Food/Equipment
We are always in need of people willing to transport animals. Vet trips, collections from pounds and kennels, food and equipment runs are also a vital part of our work. We ask for a form of identification, a character reference and that you have a clean and current driving licence. For more information please email enquiries@hornchurchpetservices.co.uk using 'Volunteering' as the title of your email.
Fundraising
Hornchurch Animal Rescue & Rehoming is self-funded by Donna Evans and Matthew Jennings of www.designnbuild.co.uk Like most rescues we struggle to survive and all public donations are hugely appreciated. If you have any fundraising ideas or are willing to do some fundraising in order to help us help the animals please let us know!
Poster/Leafleting/Advertising/Recommendation
We need help to find homes for the needy animals. Poster and leaflet campaigns in the local area are a huge help. If you are willing to put up some posters in local schools and vets or perhaps hand out leaflets please do let us know.
Donated Items Needed
We are always needy for items such as:
Please call 07751-449034 or email enquiries@hornchurchpetservices.co.uk for delivery address details or to arrange collection. We are grateful for any volunteers willing to scan Freegle (fomerly Freecycle) on our behalf looking for animal items. The Freecycle network provides individuals and non-profit organisations an electronic forum to "recycle" unwanted items therefore reducing landfill sites. See www.freegle.org.uk
